Bright Area Business Association: Minutes- Friday, February 12, 2016
Meeting called to order by VP Jim Mansfield.
Celeste Calvitto introduced the guest speaker: Korry Johnson, Personal trainer. Korry left the corporate-career world to pursue her dream of becoming a personal trainer. She works with clients of all shapes, sizes and ages. She demonstrated some office exercises for those who spend a lot of time at their desk throughout the day. She meets with clients at their gym, community center, or their homes.
Jim Mansfield- Reminder to check the minutes on the website prior to the next meeting. If you have business news, please send to Bebe Kinnett. They can upload it on the BABA website blog page. Reminder to like, comment and share BABA posts on Facebook for increased exposure. Email Jim Mansfield a link to your Facebook posts, and he will be happy to share on the BABA Facebook page on your behalf.
Treasurers Report: Presented by Bebe Kinnett (for Dan Cross). $300 in dues were collected in January. BABA will need to pay our $45 in merchant fees. Net assets are approximately $10,000 with $975.00 left after paying out fees/bills. More discussion to come regarding the proposed idea to make BABA a 501 C-3. Pros/cons. Will discuss more in coming meetings.

Monday, May 16, 2016. All day event. Lunch and Dinner served. Volunteers are needed. You will be contacted regarding getting involved. Prizes and silent auction items are needed, as well. If you have old baskets/gift baskets, please donate them to BABA for the golf outing.
Jim Mansfield reported that Greg requested approval to provide a small, collapsible cooler as the golf outing gift this year (with BABA logo, etc.) in place of the golf towel. The group voted, all yay. More discussion to come next month regarding BABA shirts, or possible name tags.
Reminders: The Bright Lion’s Club annual pancake breakfast will be March 5th from 7a-12p. All you can eat breakfast. Tickets available for purchase through Art Little and other area businesses.
