BABA Meeting Minutes
August 11, 2017
Bright Lions Building
President Bebe Kinnett called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance, led by Lori Enright was recited by the membership. Our guest speaker was Lynn Deddens, Dearborn County Prosecuting Attorney. Lynn spoke about the different aspects of what her office does on a day to day basis. The diverse functions performed by the Prosecutors Office includes everything from DNA tasting and Child support to all types of criminal activity and elder abuse. She shared several situations she has been involved with which was very interesting to hear.
President’s Report-Bebe noted that September is when we begin to look for the new Leadership Team for 2018. Interested members should let her know how they would like to serve the organization, and current team members let her know if they want to serve another year. It was decided that BABA would give Bright Fire & EMS donation for 2017 in two parts, reserving some funds for the BABA-Q in October. Total to the Fire & EMS would be (estimate) $8700 depending on the success of the BABA-Q. Earmarked for the N Dearborn Pantry was $1000.
Festival Report- It was reported that the Basket Booth profited $3700. A bit less than 2016, but still a success for this year. Thanks to everyone who supported and participated.
Treasurer’s Report- Wayne Leslie reported a balance of $18,000 which includes $960 in sponsorships for the BABA-Q
