The March 13, 2015 meeting of Bright Area Business Association was called to order by President Greg Gronwall. The meeting was at the Bright Lions Building in Bright. Introductions were made around the room and minutes from February’s meeting were approved by Diane Bender with a second from Jim Kinnett. Welcome to visitors Joe Schreibeis from Schreibeis Plastering and Dr. Janie Wilson from On A Roll Housecalls.

The Golf Committee reports that sponsorships are good this year. We are still waiting to hear from JTM about donations. They will confirm with Greg within the next couple weeks. Donations for gift baskets and goodie bags are still needed. Our goal is to have 128 golfers, which is the max for Hidden Valley Golf Club. Greg Seamon, scout for the Cincinnati Bengals will be the guest speaker. Greg grew up and lives in Bright. The golf flyers are out for distribution. Greg mentioned that golf flyers also can be printed from the BABA website.
The Festival Committee reported that the Bright Festival is July 24 & 25 and BABA will have a basket raffle booth again this year. Diane Bender will have more information as we get closer to that date. All gift basket donation should be given to Diane.
Diane Bender spoke for the Membership Committee. She reminded everyone that May is “renewal” month. You can pay dues by check or credit card (new this month by ACN). Please mail checks to Diane Bender. Bebe Kinnett has been working on a membership pamphlet that will highlight the advantages of being a member Of BABA. She will update us at the next meeting.
Social Media guru Jim Mansfield was not able to attend, but wanted to report that the website is currently being updated. Greg reminded everyone that you can sign-on to the website and change details or coupons/offers for your business. Just contact Bebe for the sign-on information.
Celeste reported for the Education Committee that the April meeting will be dedicated to finalizing the Golf Outing events, so no guest speaker in April. The May meeting will be after hours at Trinity Cleaners in Lawrenceburg on May 6. In June the guest Speaker will be our State Representative Judd McMillan. Everyone should watch for an email blast when Dale Lutz’s calves are being born. Everyone is invited on a field trip to experience the Indiana farming tradition.
