The meeting was opened by President Bebe Kinnett. Introductions were heard in round -robin fashion. Dan Hawkins made the motion to approve the August minutes, second by Chris Faller.
Bebe spoke of marketing strategies for members businesses. Bebe reminder everyone that Secure Socket Layer (SSL) /website security(HTTPS) has new regulations for 2018. She is asking for ideas for speakers in 2018. Nominations for officers begin in October. Bebe recommended that everyone join an internet group “Nextdoor.com” which is specific to each neighborhood and is a great networking tool.
Kirk Kuhn spoke about the New Directions Grant Overview from the Dearborn County Foundation for $10,000. The grant is designed to assist Dearborn County Residents who are long-term unemployed or working poor who need transportation, uniforms, etc. If anyone know someone that can benefit from this grant, please call Kirk Kuhn.
BABA membership drive began on September 1.
Treasurer Wayne Leslie reported a balance of $12,138.56
Debby Stutz reported that the BABA-Q was coming along slowly. The need for volunteers is urgent. Lisa Cox passed around a sign up sheet for volunteers the day of the event. Brett Bischoff volunteered to have UCB sponsor the Pop and Water booth. To date only 3 vendors had committed and Sponsorships were sparse. She asked that everyone share the Facebook page to help with social media.
