III. Approval of minutes from last meeting |
Minutes from the last meeting were posted online and approved were approved. |
a) Bebe Kinnett, President reported the following website activity: There were over 589 hits during the past 30 days. This is phenomenal. The festival had 219 hits. Bebe optimized the website for every kind of festival request. The request most was “What time was the chicken dinner on Saturday?” Some were searching for the dunking booth. The most popular search was the Bright Community Festival, then the following pages were hit respectfully– home, activities during the festival, directory, about members, and the thank you section. |
This is good for our ranking. It shows we have good content in our website. |
Overall we hit a homerun on the website this month. |
b) We have a change in officers. Martin has stepped down from treasurer and Dan Cross as agreed to step up. A motion was made to accept Dan Cross as treasurer and was approved by unanimous vote. Also, Teri has resigned as publicity chair. |
c) One-minute introductions were made by members who were present giving a brief description of their business. |
d) Diane Bender, membership committee, reported that we have 24 members. She has sent out reminders and contacted others. |
e) The Festival. Special “Thanks” to Diane for helping with the festival and stepping up and doing a great job. Teri Vetter also helped with the dunkees. |
Dunking booth netted about $465 which all went to The Bright Fire/EMS Department. We purchased 1000 koozies which were passed out at the festival. Several businesses present took some koozies to hand out when the opportunity presents itself. |
a) Future programs were discussed. What are the members interested in learning or hearing information about? The road construction is a big concern to the Bright Businesses. It will affect us all. |
b) Jim Mansfield asked the Bright Area Business Association to take over the golf tournament fundraiser for the Bright Volunteer Fire Department next year. Greg Cronwall volunteered to chair the committee. |
c) Charlie Blankenship, Carousel Dry Cleaners is in rehab and will be laid up for awhile. Notes and cards would be appreciated. |
d) Would business owners be open to a social meeting possible being held at the Merchant Bank’s community room. This would replace the meeting on Friday. A motion that Logan Supermarket cater the meeting was passed. |
e) Absolute Designs has not been paid and we need some routine service requiring technical labor from an outside source costing about $200 for the minimum and $400 for additional work. We agreed on completing the minimum and complete the other work in phases. |
Bebe adjourned the meeting at 9:05. |
