President Bebe Kinnett opened the meeting at the Bright Lions Club, 8AM.  Wayne Leslie led the group with the Pledge of Allegiance.  The Slate of Officers for 2018 was reviewed.  Bebe Kinnett-President, Vice President-No nominee, Wayne Leslie-Treasurer, Debby Stutz-Secretary, Kelly Will-Co Chair Membership, Cindy Nixon-Marketing, Social Media-No Nominee, Programs-No Nominee, Jim Kinnett-Golf Chair, Diane Bender-Festival Chair, Debby Stutz-BABA-Q, Motion to accept the entire slate by Diane Bender, 2nd by Doris Gibbons. Motion carried.

Treasurer report: Wayne Leslie reported a balance of $10,400.95.  Wayne also presented the Budget for 2018.  A copy will be given to Debby Stutz for the minutes after it is approved.

Awards presented: Diane Bender, Business Member of the Year and Celeste Calvitto, Community Service Award (Accepted by Fire Chief Jason Eckhoff).  BABA presented donations to the Bright Lions Club for $500, the North Dearborn Pantry for $1500 and Bright Fire & EMS for $9005.

There was discussion to have a BABA presence at the Mardi Gras benefit event in February.  The event is well attended and is a great networking event.

Marketing-Jim Kinnett reported that the advertising insert in The Beacon would be quarterly and full color.  Ads can be front and back.  Prices are still being discussed to make the insert profitable as well as affordable for members.  Jim also reported that his goal for the non-profit status of 501C6 is to be complete before end of year.

Bylaws-Dan Hawkins reported that the Bylaws will have a Conflict of Interest included.  Bebe Thanks Dan for his diligence in creating and keeping the Bylaws current.

Membership-Kelly Will is happy to assist the Membership Chair with updating addresses, etc.

Golf- Jim Kinnett announced the 2018 outing will be May 21 at Hidden Valley Golf Club.  He is hopeful that Sponsors will be approached once annually for sponsorships and is working to develop those Sponsorship Levels. He would like to combine sponsorships for the Golf Outing as well as the BABA-Q and the Festival.

BABA-Q- Debby Stutz reported that the Q was a great time considering the shortage of help the day of the event and hiccups during the day.  The event was reported to have an attendance of about 1000 people and the weather was amazing.  Eagle Country 99.3 is willing and ready to be the Presenting Sponsor for 2018.

Festival-Diane suggested that if you get stuff for Christmas that you don’t want, give it to her for Festival baskets.  Need volunteers as always for July.

Speakers- Educational Speakers, need suggestions. Evening events, need suggestions.  Dan Cross will speak in January about Tax changes.  Jane Orr in February and Kirk in March.  Wayne Leslie will be sometime in the spring.

Everyone enjoyed a festive Christmas breakfast. Thanks to Logan Supermart for catering.
