The Bright Area Business Association provides networking for businesses in or near the Southeastern Indiana communities of Bright, Hidden Valley and Logan, and Harrison, Ohio. There are numerous small businesses in the Bright, Indiana area and the organization provides a method for sharing resources and information. Guests are always welcome to attend the meetings.

Meeting dates and locations have changed! Future meeting will be held on the 2nd Friday of the month at various locations and members can check the web site to find the location of the month.

July 2018 Meeting Minutes

Bright Area Business Association Bright Lions Club Building July 13, 2018 The meeting was opened by President Bebe Kinnett.  Wayne Leslie led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.  Joe Alig announced that there are some open positions on the Board for 2019 including Secretary, Festival Chair and Membership. If anyone is interested, please see Bebe or Joe for a nomination.  Election will be held in December. Introductions around the room before the guest speaker. Our guest speaker was Terri Randall from Dearborn County Economic Development.  Her department helps companies connect with needs and resources they need to be successful.  Interesting discussion pursued about why the majority of Dearborn County resident leave the county for work each day.  Why we are not getting new residents, etc.  Jim Kinnett also spoke about the workforce analysis group he is on.  July 30 will be a town meeting in Harrison to discuss why people are not employed in the same area where they live.  For more  info go to Treasurer Wayne Leslie reported $3570 was added to the account which he noted is more than 2017.  The funds were proceeds from the Golf Outing.  YTD balance is $18,877.00. Festival Chair, Diane Bender reported that she needs volunteers to work the basket booth.  She also needs more basket raffle items. Beer, Bands & BABA-Q Chair, Debby Stutz presented the Hog Wild Sponsorship package for BABA members only.  5K Chair, Cindy Nixon announced the web site will be live soon and open for registrations.  Freddy’s Night is July 19.  Freddy’s will donate 20% of each food order back to BABA for the BABA-Q.... read more
